The original fire place was totally covered with old render and featured a early sixties edition fireplace in reconstituted stone.
Total removal of the existing sixties fire and render covering the lovely original stone work, new stone installed to match the existing where deterioration had occurred, all mortar joints raked out and re-pointed with lime mortar, installation of new timber bearers carrying the floor joist purlin, the existing brick sides and arch to the fireplace where in poor condition and have been totally replaced with reclaimed bricks, here we used reclaimed York flags to form the hearth, installation of a new 5kw log burner with a new insulated flue liner.
